Job Description: Operates, monitors, tests and documents the performance of assigned equipment to detect malfunctions or operational problems. Evaluates equipment performance. Maintains, modifies, and overhauls all applicable plant equipment. Performs routine preventive maintenance tasks. Assesses preventive maintenance procedures and develops improvements. Assures compliance with all safety requirements and performs safety training. Provides technical direction and training to lower level personnel. Recommends changes to spare parts inventories. Prepares technical data and specifications for buildings and equipment procurement, installation, operation and maintenance. Assists facilities supervision in the daily functioning of facilities activities. Coordinates and directs the fabrication, testing, inspection and installation of engineering changes, major modifications, test equipment and devices. Prepares technical data and specifications for inclusion in equipment installation, maintenance and operational publications and training material. Install modular furniture systems, perform demos, reconfigure cubes, and install wall tracking and wall hangings, experienced with Haworth, Steel Case, and other brands of furniture. Production workbench and shelving assembling. Installing microscopes and other small equipment. Perform any and all tasks in request to faciliities management. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Skills include basic mechanical skills, carpentry and basic organizational skills.
