Purpose of position:
Process owner in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment that can provide leadership to meet the growing business demand. Hands on processes, supporting operation team to sustain a good yield, identify root causes and lead continuous improvement activity for cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives. Responsible for developing, implementing, designing and maintaining fixturing, methods, operation sequences and processes in the wet processing and plating of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. Collaborate with multi-functional teams including Design, Product Line, and Operations in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for fixturing, plating and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Have the skills to read mechanical drawing and can set up measurement methods for validating process requirements. Works on problems of moderate to complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequence and processes in the plating of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. Work directly with internal customers to support process area. Daily monitor processes and tend to process excursions. With a focus on continues improvement, and through the use of operational efficiency metrics, lead the operations of the process area. Provide support for daily design review meetings following Design for Manufacturability methodologies. As required, maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. Lead scrap prevention teams, relevant customer returns, and lead formal RCCA activities. Disposition discrepant material and strive for RCCA. Serve as an advocate for safe operations within the process area and with all preventative maintenance and interim performance verification activities. Education & Experience We require a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or related Engineering field. We are seeking a minimum of 5 years' experience in a related field. Fundamental knowledge of electrolytic and electroless plating. Basis statistic knowledge:
Use SPC to monitor and improve the process. Data analysis skill and statistic knowledge:
Can use data analysis software such as Minitab, JMP, etc. Knowledge of statistical analysis of data:
standard deviation, mean, statistical agreement tests, data transformation, trend identification, regression analysis, curve fitting, etc. Knowledge of metrology fundamentals:
MSA, metrological traceability, calibration, etc. Knowledge of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5-2009. Can read GD&T mechanical drawing, understand the mechanical process, or has some previous experience with plating. Project management skills:
Plans and directs schedules and budgets. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery. Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Organization, time management, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities. Proficient use of English language, able to clearly present technical concepts, written and verbally. Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Desired skills Capable of performing data analysis using MS excel (SPC), or Minitab software. Product troubleshooting, repair or failure mode analysis. Work experience in a manufacturing facility. Cost estimating or analysis. Knowledge of Solid Works, CAD. Desire to exceed internal customer expectations for quality and delivery. Ambition and ability to independently fill gaps in knowledge and expertise through self-guided learning. Green belt certification is preferred for Lean and Six Sigma and use of DMAIC for problem solving. Soft skills Must be a self-starter, able to work in team environment and motivate others. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to be able to build relationships and participate in diverse teams within multi-functional groups and international locations. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
