Description of Position:
Surgery Partners is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations specializing in optimizing physician practices within our organization.
Surgery Partners employes over 350 physicians and Advanced Practice Providers across the country.
The Director of Operations will execute a strategic Practice Transformation plan, adapting as internal and external environments shift.
This pivotal role involves overseeing and enhancing the operational efficiency, financial performance, and overall productivity of our physician practices.
Essential Functions/
Responsibilities:
Operational Strategy Execution:
Collaborate with senior, regional, and local leadership to implement strategic initiatives focused on optimizing physician practices, aligning with the Surgery Partners goals and objectives.
Project manage assigned initiatives and communicate status and performance updates routinely to stakeholders.
Performance Evaluation & Workflow Improvement:
Conduct thorough assessments and analyses of existing operational processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable plans to enhance practice efficiency and profitability.
Creation of a Physician Practice Management Playbook:
Using both internal and external best practices, develop a common playbook that guides the operations and management of Surgery Partners physician practices.
Financial/Operational Performance:
Drive financial and operational performance by analyzing revenue cycles, budget variances, cost-saving opportunities, and workflows, and implement strategies to increase profitability without compromising patient care.
Build reports to monitor performance across all Surgery Partners practices.
Collaboration & Communication:
Foster strong relationships and effective communication channels with physicians, practice leaders, and cross-functional teams to align operational objectives, share best practices, and implement standardized processes.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Develop a physician practice quality and compliance program including quality standards, best practices, and common policies to aid in compliance efforts, performance monitoring, and corrective actions.
Technology Integration:
Identify and implement innovative technologies and systems to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and improve patient experience within physician practices.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field.
Masters degree preferred.
Experience:
7
years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, with a focus on physician practice optimization Experience in project management and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proven track record of successfully improving operational efficiency and financial performance within healthcare settings Ability to lead cross functional teams to execute on strategic and tactical initiatives, meeting or exceeding expected deadlines and performance metrics Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and revenue cycle management.
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and comfortable working in an environment with ambiguity Proficiency in change management methodologies Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute plans aligned with organizational objectives.
Proficiency in utilizing technology and data analytics for decision-making and process improvement.
