7K a year 6 days ago 6 days ago 6 days ago Job Description Glendale Elementary School District Technician of Human Resources Purpose Statement The job of Technician of Human Resources is done for the purpose/s of providing technical and administrative/professional support to employees and Human Resources management (Volunteer Program; Fingerprinting; Professional Growth; Evaluations; NCLB Highly Qualified reporting and maintenance); Employment functions; Providing information to a variety of individuals.
Essential Functions Actively pursues continuous learning and growth in the Human Resource field for the purpose of being current on best practices, new and/or changing laws and regulations.
Coordinate schedule, and facilitate programs for the purpose of directing Human Resource related committees.
Develop distribute, and track Intent to Return Forms for classified and certified employees for the purpose of assisting department/building administrators in obtaining required letters of resignation or retirement.
Fingerprint new employees and volunteers; Track all employees and/or candidates pending background clearance and verification for the purpose of making well-reasoned recommendations concerning retention or termination of employees and volunteers with criminal histories.
Informs employees and applicants regarding a variety of procedures and program requirements for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions and taking appropriate actions.
Interprets college transcripts for the purpose of determining credit and experience for placement on appropriate pay table.
Oversees employee evaluation system for certified and classified employees (e.
g.
track and monitor due- date files for the receipt of evaluations of assigned staff types, etc.
) for the purpose of initiating required action.
Oversees professional growth program for the purpose of instructing staff on procedures, timeframes and recommending changes to salary.
Process new employees (e.
g.
new hire offers, check-in, fingerprinting, badge ID, answer questions, etc.
) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
Provide administrative support to department managers and staff for the purpose of customer service to district personnel as needed.
Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction.
Review and compare all newly hired teacher transcripts and clock hours, certificates and endorsements to classroom assignments for the purpose of determining highly qualified status as outlined in the NCLB act and state regulations.
Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Technician of Human Resources Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
applying pertinent policies, codes and requirements; Bilingual Preferred.
KNOW LEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
computer programs to include Microsoft Office, Vision; Human Resource theories and practices, applicable laws and regulations.
ABILITY is required to schedule a significant number of activities, meetings, and/or events; routinely gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment.
Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using defined methods.
Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment.
Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans.
Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited.
Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
maintaining absolute confidentiality and discretion; establishing work priorities, making independent decisions, attending to detail and ensuring accuracy.
Responsibility Responsibilities include:

Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions.

Work Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Experience:
Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
